The Keawakapu building in Kihei, Maui includes 14 two-bedroom units, 2 one-bedroom units, and 2 studio units.  It is located at 2895 S. Kihei Road, at the corner of Ala Koa Street.  It is a small building set back from Kihei Road, behind trees and a large grass lawn, and away from the business center of Kihei town, so it is more isolated from street noise than most other buildings along Kihei Road.   All of the units are individually owned, and many of them are available as long-term or short-term rentals.  If you are interested in vacation rentals, see the pointer below.  The building is not directly on the waterfront, but many units have ocean views, and rentals are typically half the price of those in waterfront buildings, so the building is a popular vacation destination. Across the street (a few minutes walk away) you can find the oceanfront Mana Kai and Kihei Surfside resorts, and Keawakapu beach.  There is also a boat ramp where you can take scuba and snorkeling boats, and a small wooded wildlife preserve.

At the Mana Kai resort, it is possible to rent kayaks, stand-up paddle boards, surfboards, and other beach and water sports equipment.  There is also a convenience store and an excellent restaurant there. Starting at Keawakapu Beach (photo at right), you can walk for about an hour to the South along the sand and on beachfront paths, in front of multi-million-dollar homes, and past half a dozen beautiful resorts in Wailea. You can also walk or drive to the north into Kihei, where there are lots of restaurants, several groceries stores, and lots of shopping.  There is also a Kihei Islander bus stop about 200 yards from the condo building with hourly trips both North and South, all the way from Wailea to Kahului.
